[PS003] Various Artists – ReDrops
Release Details
“Sundrops on the Ocean”, included on Torsion’s “Raindrops” (catalogue reference nr. [PS001]) gets remixed by artists from all over the world and from different electronic music genres.
The immense demand we got from artists to remix the track, proving its popularity, took us to challenge a selected few to embark on this project.
The artists that accepted our invitation have answered in unlikely ways, to much of our surprise, proving again that music is all about feelings.
The result goes from the furious noise remix of Toronto Noise Company (turn down your volume if you don’t want to damage your speakers) to the sublime remix made by AKTIV that gets us ready to go to a dance floor and dance to it.
Including 12 tracks one could think that this is more of the same but that is truly not so.
Here you have noise, glitchy, ambience, spoken word, techno and much more.
This EP starts with the original piano version, played and recorded by Fernando Fonseca, in a moment of personal sadness and, when testing new microphones at the PublicSpaces studio in Barcelona.
Recorded in one take only, this piece of melancholy, sadness and anger would give way to “Sundrops on the Ocean”, released on Torsion’s “Raindrops”
From the classic piano piece to the booming beats of Aktiv and Katsumoto, passing by the beauty of Jadugara and Kino5’s versions this release is having 12 new different angles to look at the same story.
